Folate

Folic acid, a compound made of terin, p-aminobenzoic acid, and glutamic acid, is one of the essential vitamins essential for normal cell growth and DNA synthesis. Serum folic acid levels reflect recent folic acid intake. Folic acid in red blood cells is the best indicator of long-term folic acid storage. Low levels of folic acid in red blood cells indicate a chronic deficiency. Vitamin B12, also known as cobalamin, is the only vitamin that contains metals. Folic acid and vitamin B12 work together to promote red blood cell production, and vitamin B12 deficiency interrupts red blood cell uptake of folic acid. This can result in low levels of folic acid in red blood cells despite adequate intake. For these reasons, it is always necessary to measure both vitamins during clinical examination. Only when it is clear which vitamin deficiency it is, can it be treated accordingly. Erythropoietin, the primary factor regulating mammalian erythropoiesis (erythropoiesis), is a glycoprotein produced by the kidney that can help predict and monitor the response of anemia patients to recombinant erythropoietin therapy, etc
