Growth Hormone Chemiluminescense Immunoassay Kit

Most IGF in serum and extracellular fluid exists in the form of complex with IGF binding protein and does not show activity. IGF-Ⅰ can promote osteoblast differentiation, proliferation, collagen and osteocalcin synthesis, and accelerate bone mineralization. IGF-Ⅰ can stimulate the proliferation and differentiation of epiphyseal plate chondrocytes and is an essential growth factor for long bone growth.

IGFBP-3

Insulin-like growth factor (IGF) is a class of single chain polypeptides similar to proinsulin in structure, and there are two types, IGF-Ⅰ and IGF-Ⅱ. Human IGF-Ⅰ is a single chain polypeptide composed of 70 amino acid residues, which is 60% homologous to insulin. Decreased serum IGF-Ⅰ level is closely associated with the incidence of fracture and can be used as an indicator of fracture risk assessment. IGFBP-3 is one of the most abundant IGF-binding proteins in blood after birth. It binds to IGFs, prevents them from being degraded, facilitates the transport of IGFs in various parts of the body, and modifies the structure of IGFs to alter the interaction between IGFs and their specific receptors. Since serum IGFBP-3 has growth hormone (GH) dependence and is related to GH secretion, its determination is helpful for the detection of abnormal GH secretion. Especially in childhood, IGFBP-3 values play an important role in determining changes in GH secretion and function (i.e., primary IGF deficiency).
